LRMC’s new ED offers more for patients

Written by Healthy Living

The newly expanded emergency department at Leesburg Regional Medical Center offers residents of the area a variety of new options in emergency care. With more than 47,000 visitors to the ED annually, growth in the area prompted growth at the hospital. The ED can now accommodate double that number of patients.

The new ED features an expanded triage area with fully equipped triage rooms. It also includes 24 new patient beds, the latest in technology with Philips monitoring equipment, and trauma-sized critical-care rooms. Besides a spacious waiting room and atrium-like lobby, there is enhanced security for the ED. “Area residents count on Leesburg Regional Medical Center for excellent, high-quality emergency services,”

Don Henderson, president and CEO of Central Florida Health, says in a press release. “Increasing our emergency department capacity not only serves the needs of our community, but also builds on our promise to provide quality health care in a modern environment that promotes healing and restoration.”
